Do you travel for makeup appointments?

Yes! VirgoSFX serves clients throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. On-location and mobile makeup services are available for private appointments, events, productions, and group bookings.

How far in advance should I book Halloween makeup?

Halloween appointments are limited and tend to book quickly. Advance booking is strongly recommended, especially for October 30th and 31st. The more elaborate your makeup or prosthetic application, the more important it is to reserve your appointment early.

Do you offer prosthetic and special effects makeup?

Yes! VirgoSFX specializes in special effects makeup, including prosthetics, wounds, creature makeup, character transformations, aging, bruising, burns, and other custom SFX designs.

Can you accommodate groups?

Absolutely! Group and event bookings are available. Multiple artists may be available for larger groups so everyone can be ready on time.

Do you offer discounts for groups?

Yes! Groups of 4 or more receive 20% off their makeup services.

Do you provide makeup for film and television?

Yes! VirgoSFX provides professional makeup and special effects makeup for film, television, commercials, photoshoots, productions, and other creative projects.

How long does Halloween makeup take?

Timing depends on the complexity of your desired look. Simple makeup may take less time, while detailed SFX, prosthetics, creature makeup, and full character transformations can require several hours. Your estimated appointment time will be discussed when booking.

Can you come to my home or event?

Yes! On-location makeup services are available throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Travel fees may apply depending on the location.

Can I get prosthetic makeup if I have a latex allergy?

Yes. Latex-free alternatives are available. Please let us know about any allergies or sensitivities when booking so the appropriate prosthetics, adhesives, and products can be selected for your appointment.

What forms of payment do you accept?

VirgoSFX accepts:

• Cash

• Zelle

• Cash App

• PayPal

• Venmo

• Credit/debit cards through Square

A 3.75% processing fee is added to payments made through most electronic payment methods. Cash and Zelle payments are exempt from this fee.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A deposit is required to secure your appointment. Deposits are typically $50–$100, depending on the materials and products needed for your appointment. A larger deposit may be required when additional specialty materials or products need to be purchased in advance.

What is your cancellation policy?

A minimum of 2 weeks' notice is required to cancel an appointment and remain eligible for a deposit refund. Appointments canceled with less than 2 weeks' notice are not eligible for a deposit refund.
